My name is Velga, I am the owner of the social enterprise SIA UGLY CAKE. 

Our social goal: to promote the development of cooking and confectionery-making skills in various social groups. To create interest among children and young people in making confectionery products and to improve the quality of life of population groups at risk of social exclusion through inclusive events and workshops.

Since childhood, my natural calling has been to make sure that the people around me are well fed and satisfied. Step by step—both by refining cooking techniques based on old traditions and by maintaining a natural and healthy set of ingredients—I have reached a stage of growth where, from initially pampering the taste buds of relatives and friends, demand for the products has grown to much larger proportions...


Our goal

Ugly Cake is a social enterprise that combines high-quality artisanal food production with a strong social mission. We believe that delicious products can also be a tool for positive change in society.

In our workshop we make sourdough bread, confectionery products and healthy snacks, prepared with respect for traditions, natural ingredients and careful handwork. But our story is about more than just taste. It is about people.

Ugly Cake’s mission is to create an inclusive work environment for people with functional impairments and other members of society who often have limited opportunities in the labour market.
